The Beauty of Birth Captured

What’s so exciting about birth photography and how is it different than other types and styles of photography?

We’re a bit biased, but the art of capturing something in real time is a little like watching a photojournalist at work during a major current event. The moment can only be caught by a very adept and trained eye, focused, snapped and then observed to show a split second in a momentous occasion.

Photographers have to be in one spot at the right time, often around many other practitioners, doulas, nurses, and family members. The lighting is often awful, and they have to know intimately the confines and limits of their equipment, and how to work around these things to capture the experience.

They are at the ready, on call to travel in weather, traffic and skip birthday parties, holidays and dinner on the table to document your journey. They tell stories with their photography, giving you a keepsake that is priceless and unfolds like a silent narrative with a beginning, middle and ending.

They know the procedures of the hospital and are ready and prepared to try and capture the moments, even if you are in the OR for a cesarean.

They’re there for the short or long haul, with ample battery life and camera card space to make sure they don’t miss the crucial moments!

Find out how birth photography can fit into your memory capture today!
